A good first step to change is having a positive vision, imagining a future that’s brighter, and creating expressions that spread that vision, which in turn inspires the innovations and actions in that way. If you keep dreaming of the apocalypse and catastrophe, you’ll likely get it. Where you look is where you go. If you’re all zombies and cynicism, those consumptive behaviors conflict with abundance and the advancement of life. So Heroik Golden Rule – cultivate that which serves truly serves you and hit the eject button, unapologetically, on that which does not. I have no interest in the fantasies or dreamscape of future horrors. They don’t serve me. They don’t inspire me to help create a positive tomorrow. The generations of latch key kids who feel scared, left out by hardworking but absent parents, don’t let it happen to your kids. Give your kids a future, by letting them see the art and creative works that allow for the possibility of a brighter future, even if you yourself don’t believe in it. They have a right to see it, believe it and build it, and so do you. Stop watching trash – filter it out, start building something better, even if it’s a stick of gum instead of a 3rd cigarette. Think progress, recognize your own momentum, pay it forward, find good things, discerning things, smart things, intelligent things, things that align with that golden rule and share them.
